Ledger has asked distributors in six Southeast Asian countries and Hong Kong to suspend sales and remove its hardware wallets from shelves while it investigates reports of device tampering.
The request covers Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, the Philippines, Vietnam, Malaysia and Hong Kong. Ledger said confirmed incidents remain limited to Southeast Asia and that it has not verified any crypto theft linked to devices bought elsewhere.
The investigation became public on 9 October after reports of stolen crypto involving devices sold by reseller CryptoBilis. Reports of suspected tampering have since emerged in other regions, including Europe.
