JPMorgan Asset Management has issued its first 10-year return forecast for Bitcoin, projecting an annual compounded return of 10%, according to its 2027 Long-Term Capital Market Assumptions report.

The report estimates Bitcoin’s volatility at 55%, compared with a projected annual return of 5.5% for gold. JPMorgan said Bitcoin’s volatility and unstable correlations with other assets remain obstacles to its wider inclusion in investment portfolios.

The analysts introduced a separate model comparing Bitcoin with a subset of other assets. They said the approach could change as Bitcoin’s volatility falls and its correlations become more stable, supported by clearer regulation, greater liquidity and improved price discovery.
