Telegram Brings Crypto to the US with New In-App Wallet
Reading Time: < 1 minute
Telegram is making crypto easier than ever for US users with its new non-custodial wallet, powered by MoonPay. Now, millions can buy, send, and manage cryptocurrency directly in the app—no separate wallet needed.
The messaging giant already saw massive adoption of its global crypto wallet, with over 100 million users activating it. The US version works instantly, letting people trade crypto as effortlessly as sending a text.
The wallet runs on The Open Platform (TOP), a blockchain project that recently hit a $1 billion valuation after raising $28.5 million.
Telegram’s crypto ambitions come after a high-profile legal fight with the SEC in 2019 over its TON token, ending in a $1.2 billion refund and an $18.5 million fine.
