The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has postponed its decision on proposed Solana exchange-traded funds (ETFs) from Bitwise and 21Shares.

In filings on Thursday, the SEC set a new deadline of October 16 to review the Bitwise Solana ETF and 21Shares Core Solana ETF. The regulator stated it needed more time to evaluate the proposals.

The delay follows a pattern of SEC extensions for crypto-related ETFs, including pending Solana ETF applications from Grayscale and Fidelity. The agency has seen a surge in crypto ETF filings—covering assets like XRP and DOGE—amid a more favorable regulatory climate.

Several firms, including ProShares and Canary, have amended their filings in hopes of securing approval, but all remain in a holding pattern awaiting the SEC’s final decision.
