CME Group is capitalizing on soaring institutional demand with the planned October 13 launch of options on its Solana and XRP futures.

The new offering, which includes standard and micro contracts with multiple expiry tenors, is a direct response to “significant growth and increasing liquidity,” according to global crypto head Giovanni Vicioso.

The data is compelling: SOL futures have traded $22.3B in notional volume since March, while XRP futures have seen $16.2B since May, both hitting record daily averages in August. These options will provide sophisticated traders with the leveraged, nuanced exposure and risk management tools they require for these volatile assets.
