S&P Global Creates a ‘One-Stop Shop’ Index for Crypto and Stock Exposure
S&P Global is answering investor calls for a simplified, regulated gateway into digital assets with the launch of the S&P Digital Markets 50.
The new hybrid index aggregates 15 leading cryptocurrencies with 35 stocks of companies like miners, infrastructure providers, and financial firms, offering a consolidated view of the sector’s performance.
“This offers market participants consistent, rules-based tools to evaluate and gain exposure,” said S&P Dow Jones Indices’ Chief Product Officer Cameron Drinkwater. He noted that from North America to Asia, investors are now treating digital assets as a standard part of their “investment toolkit.”
The index employs S&P’s rigorous standards, including quarterly rebalancing and diversification rules to prevent any single asset from dominating the portfolio, providing a measured approach to a volatile market.
