House panel backs bill for US strategic Bitcoin reserve

The House Financial Services Committee has advanced legislation that would establish a permanent US strategic Bitcoin reserve.

The American Reserve Modernization Act would require the Treasury to maintain a secure Bitcoin storage facility and acquire additional Bitcoin over five years through budget-neutral strategies.

The bill would also create a stockpile for other digital assets, building on President Donald Trump’s 2025 executive order establishing a Strategic Bitcoin Reserve.
