Binance customers withdrew $3.64 billion, equivalent to 2.1% of the exchange’s assets, as the platform resumed operations following last week’s $6.3 billion security breach linked to North Korean hackers.

The exchange said withdrawals had stabilised after an initial surge, while deposit volumes remained substantial. Binance reported $171 billion in assets under management as of 28 October and said it had covered 95% of the assets stolen in the attack.

The incident put customer confidence to the test as Bitcoin and Ether recovered slightly from Friday’s lows. Bitcoin traded above $78,000 on Monday, while Ether rose to $2,287 after reaching a two-month low. Binance has 335 million registered users worldwide.
