Thailand’s Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the Thai regulator, has just filed a criminal complaint against cryptocurrency exchange Binance for reportedly conducting unregistered operations.

The country’s watchdog says the crypto trading platform has been running a crypto exchange business in Thailand through its site without the appropriate license. In addition, the SEC claims the company is liable to criminal sanctions for allegedly promoting its service on its website and on its local Facebook page.

According to the regulator, it sent Binance a letter asking the platform to provide a written response, however, the company did not reply within the specified time.

Binance is not going through good times recently. We have reported this morning that the regulator of the Cayman Islands is investigating the exchange for reportedly running its crypto exchange business without a license. In addition, the British FCA is also monitoring the exchange’s operations in the country.
