Iran Says it Will Lift Restrictions on Crypto Mining in September
According to Financial Tribune, the Iranian authorities plan to lift restrictions on cryptocurrency mining on September 22, 2021, the publication reports quoting state-owned energy holding Tavanir.
This will happen coinciding with a decrease in the consumption of energy in the country, which was has been high over the past months of summer. Thanks to this expected decrease in the energy consumed, cryptocurrency miners will be able to resume their operations.
We should remember the authorities of the country banned crypto mining because of the continuous power cuts resulting from the excessive consumption by crypto miners.
Now the authorities believe there will be no more power cuts by September because citizens will not consume so much energy after summer.
The country’s authorities shut down in January 1,620 illegal mining centers that consumed around 250 MW of power.
