The Solana Foundation, the non-profit organization behind the development of blockchain project Solana, has opened up the possibility for validators to run nodes on server hardware.

According to the statement shared by the foundation:

“The Server Program allows current and future Solana node operators to get access to high-quality bare metal servers with flexible, month-to-month contracts directly from top-tier data center providers.”

Interested users must register for the program and complete a KYC verification process. They will have access to the equipment once the agreement is signed.

The minimum lease period is one month and the maximum number of servers per validator is limited to two.

The Solana Foundation’s partners are data center operators Equinix, Lumen and Stackpath. The organization expects to expand their number over the coming months.

The organization claims that it does not benefit from the sale of computing power by its partners.
