Indian Online Retailer Flipkart Launches its Own Metaverse
Indian marketplace Flipkart, which is owned by US retailer Walmart, has started testing its own Flipverse virtual world.
The project is aimed at attracting customers during the holiday season. The partner of the pilot initiative was eDAO, affiliated with Polygon.
In the Flipverse metaverse, the world’s leading brands will offer their products to customers: Puma, Noise, Nivea, Lavie, Tokyo Talkies, Campus, VIP, Ajmal Perfumes and Himalaya.
According to a press release, customers expect a “gamified, interactive and immersive” experience. They will also be able to collect Supercoins loyalty points and digital collectibles from partner brands.
Flipkart’s plans to explore the possibilities of the metaverses and NFT became known in April.
