According to PeckShield experts, $8.8 million in cryptocurrencies were stolen by cyber criminals during the first month of 2023.

They have found that more than 30% of the stolen funds were sent to the wallets of crypto mixer Tornado Cash.

This service came under US sanctions last year after the US authorities accused its developers of laundering criminal proceeds and serving users who are blacklisted by the Treasury.

In addition to Tornado Cash, hackers transferred funds to Fixedfloat and SideShift. In January, the largest attack was to DeFi protocol LendHub, which is used for crypto lending.

In addition, other victims of hackers have been ThoreumFinance, MidasCapitalxyz, Omniestategroup and Mycelium.
