Tim Draper, a well-known investor and billionaire, has recently introduced Draper Goren Blockchain (DGB), a “venture studio” focused on driving innovation in the realm of decentralized finance through early-stage funding for crypto projects.

The venture has been founded by entrepreneurs Alan Goren and David Bliznak. Bliznak, who worked closely with Draper on their previous venture Draper Goren Holm, also sits on the boards of LunarCrush, an analytical platform, and Ownera, an institutional crypto service.

He has a strong background in DeFi, having led the project DeFi Totle, and also worked at popular crypto exchange Coinbase where he oversaw corporate products.

DGB aims to invest between $25,000 and $100,000 in pre-seed stage startups over the next decade. In addition, the studio plans to partner with selected projects to create new companies from the ground up.

Speaking about the venture, Draper said:

“It’s a common belief that bear markets are a time for building. There are some incredible projects currently in development that need financial support and guidance.”
