Worldcoin Hires Coinbase’s Former Head of Communications

Elliott Suthers, former head of corporate communications at US cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase, has been appointed as the head of communications for Europe, Middle East and Africa at Worldcoin.

Worldcoin, the iris biometric crypto project founded in 2019 by OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, has garnered attention for its use of a chrome sphere to scan users’ eyes and verify their identity.

Suthers, who brings experience working in government policy in Washington, D.C., was with Coinbase since 2018 and played a key role in its growth as a publicly traded company in the US.

He believes that Worldcoin’s technology has the potential to distinguish humans from AI online, while also preserving privacy and enabling global democratic processes.
