Do Kwon’s Extradition to South Korea is Put Off Again
The extradition of Do Kwon, former CEO of Terraform Lab, to South Korea has faced yet another setback.
According to local media, the court has decided to postpone the process until a decision is made by the Supreme State Prosecutor’s Office on the Request for Protection of Legality.
This is the latest development in Kwon’s extradition saga, which began when he was arrested in March 2023 in Montenegro for document forgery in an attempt to fly to Dubai.
Initially, the High Court in Montenegro had ruled in February to extradite him to the United States to face legal repercussions related to the Terra-Luna stablecoin crash of 2022.
However, the decision was later reversed in March, with the court deciding to extradite him to South Korea instead. This has led to several months of appeals, delays, and inconsistent rulings.
