One individual Bitcoin miner has accomplished a rare achievement by solving a block on their own, earning them approximately $180,000.

The block, known as 860749, was mined on September 10 and contained 5,935 transactions. The mining pool Solo CK was responsible for the block, with the successful miner receiving a reward of 3.169 Bitcoin, equivalent to around $182,505.

Despite its name suggesting an individual miner, Solo CK is actually a collective pool of smaller miners, distributing the reward to the one who solves the block.

In this case, the miner with 629 petahashes of hashrate was responsible for solving the block, a very small percentage (0.098%) of the total hashrate securing the blockchain.

Data from Bitcoin transaction tracker YCharts shows that the total hashrate at the time of the block was solved was 644.91 exahashes per second (EH/s).
