The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has approved NYSE American LLC and Cboe Exchange, Inc. to list and trade options on various Bitcoin exchange-traded funds.

The approval, known as “accelerated approval,” allows for the trading and listing of options on the Fidelity Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund, the ARK21Shares Bitcoin ETF, the Invesco Galaxy Bitcoin ETF, the Franklin Bitcoin ETF, the VanEck Bitcoin Trust, the WisdomTree Bitcoin Fund, the Grayscale Bitcoin, the Grayscale Bitcoin Mini Trust, the Bitwise Bitcoin ETF, the iShares Bitcoin Trust ETF, and the Valkyrie Bitcoin Fund.

Cboe has also been granted approval for the same products.

The SEC stated that the proposed rule changes are in line with Section 6(b)(5) of the Act, which requires exchanges to have rules that prevent fraudulent and manipulative acts and practices, remove obstacles to a free and open market, and protect investors and the public interest.
