Singapore has joined the ranks of the US, France, Taiwan, and other jurisdictions in restricting access to the prediction marketplace Polymarket.

On January 12, Singaporean users began reporting difficulties accessing the platform. Screenshots circulating on X display a notice from the Singaporean Gaming Regulatory Authority (GRA) declaring Polymarket an illegal gambling site.

The notice warns users that accessing Polymarket may result in penalties, including a $10,000 fine, six months imprisonment, or both.

The notice explicitly states that Singaporean residents who wish to engage in online gambling are required to utilize Singapore Pools, the state-owned lottery subsidiary, as it is the sole licensed online gambling provider in the country.

This restriction aligns with the nation’s ongoing crackdown on unlicensed online gambling providers.
