US Releases a Draft Crypto Regulatory Framework
On May 5, the US House Committee on Financial Services released a draft bill proposing a new market structure for digital assets in the US.
The draft, supported by Committee Chair French Hill, Agriculture Committee Chair G.T. Thompson, and Subcommittee Chairs Bryan Steil and Dusty Johnson, aims to provide regulatory clarity while maintaining US leadership in financial innovation.
This announcement precedes a joint subcommittee hearing on digital assets policy scheduled for May 6.
Chairman Hill described the draft as a continuation of bipartisan efforts from the previous Congress, stating:
“We made historic progress in the 118th Congress to build bipartisan, bicameral consensus in crafting a functional regulatory framework for digital assets.”
