USDT’s Supply on Tron Network to Surpass Ethereum’s

Stablecoin issuer Tether minted an additional 1 billion USDt tokens on the Tron network, increasing its authorized USDT supply to surpass that of Ethereum.

On May 15, blockchain data revealed that Tether’s treasury added $1 billion of its dollar-pegged stablecoin to Tron.

As of May 14, Tether’s transparency page showed Tron’s authorized USDT at $73.7 billion, compared to Ethereum’s $74.5 billion. With the new tokens, Tron’s supply exceeds Ethereum’s.

In circulating supply, Tron also leads with $73.6 billion USDT, while Ethereum has $71.8 billion. Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino mentioned on X that some USDT mints are used to replenish inventory for future issuance requests and chain swaps.
