Circle has launched the mainnet of Arc, a layer-1 blockchain designed for stablecoin payments and financial markets, including agentic transactions.
The network uses USDC as its native gas token and supports the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM). It offers deterministic settlement finality in under one second, according to an Arc blog post.
Arc supports more than 20 fiat-backed stablecoins, including USDC, EURC, JPYC, KRW1 and TRYB. Tokenised assets such as BlackRock’s BUIDL and Circle’s USYC are also available on the network.
The blockchain connects with more than 20 other networks through Circle’s Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol (CCTP) and Gateway. Circle CEO Jeremy Allaire described the launch as the company’s most significant since USDC.
