Thailand’s Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has finalised rules allowing Bitcoin and Ether ETFs to list on the Stock Exchange of Thailand.

The framework takes effect on 16 October 2026 and initially limits crypto ETFs to the two largest cryptocurrencies. The products must trade exclusively on Thailand’s main stock exchange, while ETFs linked to foreign crypto funds will not be allowed at first.

Thai brokers will also remain restricted from offering overseas crypto ETFs to retail investors, except for institutional and ultra-high-net-worth clients.

The SEC has also allowed Thai mutual and private funds to invest in locally established crypto ETFs. The changes will give Thai investors a new way to gain Bitcoin and Ether exposure through the domestic stock market.
