Dormant Bitcoin Wallet Stirs, Moving $85 Million After 13 Years
A Bitcoin wallet holding 909.38 BTC, valued at approximately $84.6 million, became active on Monday after more than 13 years of dormancy, according to on-chain data.
Arkham Intelligence data indicates the wallet, labeled “1A2hq…pZGZm,” transferred its entire balance to a new address, “bc1qk…sxaeh,” around 4:17 p.m. The wallet originally accumulated its Bitcoin between December 2012 and April 2013, a period when the price ranged from roughly $13 to $250.
The identity of the wallet’s owner and the recipient remains unknown.
This movement follows a pattern observed during Bitcoin’s record run last year, where several wallets from the same early era were activated. Such moves are often seen as long-term holders taking profits after years of holding. Notably, another large holder sold over 80,000 BTC for an estimated $9 billion in profit in July 2025.
At the time of the transfer, Bitcoin was trading at $92,531 as of 9:40 p.m. Monday, maintaining its levels following a sharp market dip triggered by US-EU trade tensions the previous day.
