Veteran Executive Amy Oldenburg to Lead Morgan Stanley’s Crypto Push
Amy Oldenburg, a veteran of over twenty years at Morgan Stanley, has been appointed to lead the firm’s digital asset strategy, Bloomberg reported. Oldenburg previously served as the head of emerging markets equity at the bank.
The move comes as major financial institutions ready themselves for substantial evolution in the digital asset sector. This includes expectations for wider stablecoin use and possible new regulatory laws from the US.
Compared to peers such as BlackRock and Fidelity, which charged ahead with spot Bitcoin ETF launches in 2024, Morgan Stanley has until now maintained a relatively cautious public approach.
The bank appears to be changing course. In recent actions, Morgan Stanley filed to list spot Bitcoin and Solana ETFs and revealed plans to introduce its own digital wallet before the end of the year.
