MoneyGram has introduced a Visa-branded card that lets customers spend stablecoins, following a similar launch by Western Union as traditional remittance firms expand into digital assets.
The MoneyGram Card will initially be available as a virtual card in Colombia and can be added to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet. A physical version is planned for additional markets later this year.
MoneyGram is developing the card with infrastructure provider Rain, which is also working with Western Union on its Stablecard. The company launched its MGUSD stablecoin on Stellar in June and has since expanded its crypto services through a link with a Solana wallet.
