Revolut said an unauthorised party obtained sensitive customer information after sending fraudulent requests from a legitimate government email domain.

The company described the incident as a sophisticated impersonation scam and said it blocked the address after detecting the activity. Revolut said its systems and customer funds were unaffected.

A limited number of customers were affected. The exposed information may have included contact details, dates of birth, identity documents, verification selfies, account statements and transaction histories.
