Fox Broadcasting Company has partnered with Dan Harmon, co-creator of the popular TV series Rick and Morty, to launch the “first-ever animated series curated entirely on the blockchain,” the Hollywood Reported has learned.

The animated comedy series, dubbed “Krapopolis,” will use blockchain tech for promotion. It is worth mentioning that together with the series, Fox plans to launch marketplace where tokenized digital goods, including non-fungible tokens depicting the characters and artwork featured throughout the show, will be for sale.

Fox is also creating a company called Blockchain Creative Labs, which will operate the marketplace for Krapopolis as well as other shows that might be launched in the future.

According to Fox, the company expects the platform to “help brands keep direct contact with fans and enthusiasts through NFTs.”

The producer of the series will be Fox-owned Bento Box Entertainment. While Krapopolis will be based on NFTs, there will be no mention to cryptos on it due to the fact that the series is set in ancient Greece.
