PayPal Opens Access to Cryptos for UK Users
Payments company PayPal now allows UK customers to buy, store and sell cryptocurrencies.
This is the first expansion of the company’s digital assets service outside the United States, where it has been available since October 2020.
UK PayPal users can transact Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin and Bitcoin Cash through their accounts. They will also have access to educational content.
The company provides access to digital assets in association with Paxos.
PayPal announced in March the Checkout with Crypto service, which allows US customers to use cryptos to pay for goods and services.
In April, the company added the ability to buy and sell digital assets to its mobile service Venmo.
In May it became known that PayPal is developing a function to withdraw cryptocurrencies to third-party wallets.
