The decision timeline for approval of the Hashdex Nasdaq Ethereum ETF has been postponed by the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The ETF, which would hold spot ether and futures contracts, was proposed by the Nasdaq stock exchange in September.

With a new deadline of May 30, 2024, the SEC has extended its decision-making process to thoroughly consider the proposed rule change and any concerns raised.

Meanwhile, the SEC has also delayed its decision on the ARK 21Shares Ethereum ETF, which would track ether’s performance, to May 24, 2024, and is seeking public comments on both applications.

Toroso Investments, registered with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission and a member of the National Futures Association, would manage and control the Hashdex ETF if it is ultimately approved.
