On Sunday, crypto exchange Mt. Gox transferred over $2 billion worth of Bitcoin to two addresses, possibly the company may be preparing to repay its creditors.

The transfer occurred at 11:39 p.m. UTC, with one wallet sending 27,871 BTC ($2.24 billion) to a new wallet, and another 2,500 BTC ($200 million) to Mt. Gox’s cold wallet.

The sender wallet had recently received the 30,371 BTC from Mt. Gox. This comes after a series of similar movements in Mt. Gox’s remaining Bitcoin, which started at the end of October, following a break of over a month.

It is not yet known if this transfer is connected to future repayments to creditors, but past movements have preceded repayments through exchanges such as Bitstamp and Kraken.

Currently, Mt. Gox holds 44,378 Bitcoin, according to data from Arkham Intelligence.
