Morgan Stanley May Add Crypto Trading to E-Trade Platform
Morgan Stanley, an American multinational investment bank, is reportedly looking into offering crypto trading services through its E-Trade platform.
This decision comes on the heels of the Trump administration’s commitment to creating a friendlier regulatory environment for digital assets.
The bank plans to provide direct access to major cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum to its E-Trade customers, but it will need approval from the Federal Reserve, as it is classified as a bank holding company. No comment was received from Morgan Stanley at the time of publication.
Trump’s promises to support the crypto industry and make the US a leader in this space may involve appointing pro-crypto individuals in key regulatory positions and potentially giving more authority to the CFTC, known for its more favorable stance towards digital currencies.
