Ethereum is processing a historic number of daily transactions while user costs have fallen to record lows. This milestone highlights the effect of recent protocol upgrades and a notable increase in stablecoin usage.

The seven-day moving average of transactions on the Ethereum network is approaching 2.5 million, an all-time high that nearly doubles the figure from one year ago. This surge in activity, which began in mid-December, has reversed a gradual decline that started in the middle of 2025.

Concurrently, average gas fees have plummeted to significant lows. Data indicates average transaction costs are around $0.15, the lowest in the network’s modern history. Other trackers report even lower estimates, with the average fee for a swap on Sunday around $0.04.

This rare combination of peak usage and minimal cost represents a turning point for Ethereum. The network has historically faced criticism for high and volatile fees that excluded smaller users during times of heavy congestion.
