Senate Republicans revise Clarity Act ahead of vote

Senate Republicans have released a revised version of the Clarity Act ahead of the bill’s first procedural vote on 15 September.

The 630-page text contains more than 114 changes requested by Democratic senators, according to Senator Cynthia Lummis. It also introduces provisions covering non-decentralised finance protocols.

The legislation would establish a federal regulatory framework for the crypto industry. Key disagreements remain over stablecoin rewards, illicit finance and potential conflicts involving President Donald Trump’s crypto interests.
