Senate Republicans release revised Clarity Act ahead of vote

Senate Republicans have published a revised version of the Clarity Act ahead of the bill’s first procedural vote on 15 September.

The 630-page text, released by Senator Cynthia Lummis and other Republicans, includes new provisions covering so-called non-decentralised finance protocols. Lummis said the latest draft incorporates more than 114 provisions requested by Democratic senators.

The Clarity Act would establish the first federal regulatory framework specifically for the US crypto industry. The bill still faces opposition over issues including stablecoin rewards, illicit finance and potential conflicts involving President Donald Trump’s crypto interests.
