SEC Puts Off Decision on WisdomTree’s Bitcoin ETF

The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has just postponed (once again) its decision on the Bitcoin ETF application filed by WisdomTree.

Now, the regulator has until autumn to make a decision on whether it allows the approval of WisdomTree’s exchange-traded fund. The watchdog has asked for feedback from the public and industry experts to find out if the ETF is a safe product for investors. Public comments must be submitted to the Fed within 21 days, and rebuttals filed in 35 days since the publication is made.

In the document, the watchdog stated:

“The Commission requests that interested persons provide written submissions of their views, data and arguments with respect to the issues identified above, as well as any other concerns they may have with the proposal.”

We should remember that the SEC has not yet approved any application for a Bitcoin ETF. At the moment, it has more than a dozen ETF applications pending approval.
